It's time once again to recap MTTA's most important fund raiser of the year: our Fall Gala. This year's Gala was held November 4th at the Seattle REI store. Thanks to over 250 enthusiastic attendees, generous sponsors and dedicated volunteers, this event was both fun and successful.

As expected, the hut reservations lottery was a hit with almost all Saturday night reservations being filled. And more importantly, the Gala brought in over $4800 to operate and maintain our backcountry hut and trail system.
Flooding Disaster
Two days after the Gala, severe flooding on the Nisqually River washed out a bridge effectively closing our South District for at least one year (see Flooding Disaster). The finanicial impact of this flooding disaster is significant. Three quarters of our trail system will be closed for nearly a year, eliminating the corresponding reservation fees and donated deposits. And this is the year we are trying to get matching funds for a new SnoCat. More than ever, MTTA needs your help. Please consider an online gift and check out other ways to help MTTA. We appreciate your help in this time of need.
The success of MTTA depends first on our trail users, and those that attend the Gala are among the most important. They contribute by paying the entrance fee, buying silent auction items, becoming members and making donations. But most importantly, they generate enthusiasum for MTTA's backcountry and pass that enthuiasum on to their friends. We sincerely appreciate their contributions!

Kids and Families, all having Fun |
And speaking of the silent auction, it would not exist without the donations made by many individuals and businesses. Their donations drew people to the Gala, made it a fun event, and most important, raised money to operate and sustain our trail system. Our hats are off to all of our donors, but in particular we want to thank the following businesses for their generous donations. MTTA's success is tied to theirs; in effect, they're "our partners". Please visit them, thank them for supporting MTTA, and support them in turn:
