No Access to Snow Bowl, High Hut and the Yurt in 2008

The MTTA Board of Directors regrets to inform you that the South District (High Hut, Snow Bowl and the Yurt), will not be accessible in 2008.

The MTTA Board of Directors was told by the DNR on October 13th that the bridge would not be completed this season.   The company that won the contract was unable to come up with the necessary bond, and so the project could not be started.   Several options have been considered, and none are feasible, including getting another contractor to do it at this point, due to the permitting windows for fish and wildlife.

This means that Copper Creek Hut will be the only overnight facility available. Reservations will begin at the Gala.   Saturday night reservations will be limited to 12 or 14 lucky parties, so please consider adjusting your work schedule in order to enjoy an overnight trip to the Tahoma Trails.

We will have the new Piston Bully Snow Cat in the North District, and anticipate many miles of nicely groomed trails.

The MTTA needs your support more than ever, so please come to our Fundraiser Gala at REI on Nov. 3rd.  Show your support, and see some old friends!
