Snow Bowl Hut Destroyed by Fire

A Sad Day for MTTA Volunteers, Trail Users and Supporters

It is with great regret that we inform everyone that Snow Bowl Hut was destroyed by fire on March 21st, 2008.   Snow Bowl Hut holds a special place in our hearts, and the loss is keenly felt.   A fire in our South District was seen by Copper Creek hut users on March 21st, and a fly-over and visit by ski patrollers has confirmed that the hut is gone.  The cause has not yet been determined.

The MTTA Board met on April 12th and unanimously agreed to support plans to rebuild Snow Bow Hut.   Vice-President Mike Smith will be forming "Team Phoenix" to solicit funds, services, supplies and volunteers needed for the rebuild effort.

Mike reports "This will be MTTA's largest project ever, and will require significant contributions from everyone".   If you or your company can help in any way, please email MTTA - Snow Bowl Hut Rebuild.   If you can provide a gift to the Snow Bowl Rebuild effort, please use our dedicated "Support Rebuilding Snow Bowl" PayPal system below, or mail a check to MTTA, Snow Bowl Rebuild Effort, PO Box 206, Ashford, WA 98304.
