Design Moves Ahead!
New Hut Fund: Project Manager Michael Smith is pleased to announce that we are moving forth with a design contract. Check out the Full Hut Plans (3 MB PDF). A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to Pacific Home Source, who provided these plans at a substantial discount, and to our builder, Advanced Build Northwest, who has offered to help find discounted and donated materials. We've made tremendous progress raising over $37,000 for the new Snow Bowl Hut, but we still need your help! We have received an extended pledge from a private foundation: if we can raise $75,000 we will receive $25,000! In the meantime, we are pursuing funding from other sources. Your donations help us to score high in grant requests, so thank you very much for your help! To reach our goal, we need to reach out to local businesses and corporations. It's simple -- just Request an Info Packet on MTTA and Project Phoenix and present it to your employer or local business. With your help, the new Snow Bowl hut will be built and enjoyed by the public for many years to come. |

Build in 2010?
We've made tremendous progress raising $35,000 for the new Snow Bowl Hut, but have another challenge in front of us: raising another $40,000 by the end of June, which will make us eligible for a $25,000 contribution from a private foundation, allowing us to start construction this summer! We know many of you have given what you can, so to reach this next goal, we need to reach out to local businesses and corporations. It's simple -- just Request an Info Packet on MTTA and Project Phoenix and present it to your employer or local business. Getting the word out CAN make it possible to start rebuilding Snow Bowl this year! |

$4,000 pledge offered, on a 50% match basis. As April draws near, and our deadline looms, will we start construction in 2010 or not? In order to start construction this year, we need to raise $100,000 by April 15th. We have raised $24,000 so far. We have a pledge from a private foundation for $25,000 if we raise a total of $75,000 by April. So we need another $51,000 in donations, which will allow us to access the $25,000 pledge, giving us the needed total of $100,000, and allowing us to break ground this summer. To help us reach that goal, we have received a 50% Match Pledge from Mary and Jerry Zyskowski for donations of up to $8,000 by March 15th. Mary and Jerry are strong supporters of the MTTA, and have generously contributed to MTTA's future by investing in the New Snow Bowl Hut. Recognizing the need for solidarity, they have offered to donate an additional $4,000 if you, our trail and hut users, can raise another $8,000 by March 15th. Please join us in a concerted effort to raise $8,000 by March 15th! This could put us within striking distance of our goal, and may inspire others who are considering a donation, as we near our goal. If you have ever had an enriching experience on the MTTA trails and at the huts, please take this opportunity to show your appreciation by investing in the new hut. We are very grateful to all those who have generously donated so far! Please see our and add your name to the list by either sending a check, or going to our web site to make an easy online gift. |
